Turning Actions Into Art

Everything that we do holds meaning. It creates a ripple effect. When we realize that, we stop sleepwalking through our days and come home to the art of intention. We remember that there doesn't have to be a ceiling to how big we can dream.

If everything I do has so much potential, why wouldn't I choose to turn my actions into art? Life isn't just about trendy aesthetics or surface level beauty. Beyond scratching the surface, there is a depth of beauty that is interwoven into every living thing. Beauty connects us all. Our systems relax. Our Spirits feel a bit more alive. When creating beauty in relation to others, we feel more connected to them. We feel love. We feel human.

Beauty doesn't only originate from the external. You don't need expensive things in order to create and radiate beauty. As above, so below. As within, so without. It can be argued that beauty starts internally. It begins with the seeds we choose to plant within ourselves. How we speak, what we think, how we take care of ourselves, and the internal world that we curate. It really all begins with heart, love, and appreciation for those energies reflected in the world. The internal and external are inextricably sewn together. They dance with one another, they uplift one another. One of the best feelings is intentionally choosing to weave the two together.

As I put on my outfits everyday, I ask my soul what would make it shine through. I look in the mirror and smile at myself during a quick bathroom break. I light a deliciously smelling candle in the morning or at night while I meditate and do my breathwork. When I make delicious meals filled with love for my loved ones and me, I love to specially choose our plates and bowls - ones that hold stories and meaning. When I think something kind about a stranger, I challenge myself to say it everytime, and it always ends up being worth it. I enjoy folding the blanket that rests on the edge of my bed nicely. While out in the world I love to notice the sun shining through the trees, the people on the street laughing, the mother who's comforting her child. Noticing matters just as much as creating. It invites in the feeling of warmth, reminding us that at the end of the day, we all have more in common than we realize. Small, intentional acts don't require resources. Beauty can be found anywhere and everywhere, if you're open to seeing it.

I'm not perfect, but I make an effort, and that's what matters. The effort we make is always felt on some level, even if no one ever acknowledges it. And doing it from love and not obligation, always helps us to feel more lit up inside.

It's the small and simple things that matter. Compounded together, they create a big, potent, stunning picture of what we call life.
