What you need:
Vitamin E Oil (for evening routine only)
Prickly Pear Facial Serum by Circular Living (in shop!) OR some other light oil such as almond, marula, jojoba, or olive oil (for both evening/morning routine)
Rose Geranium Botanical Face Mist by Circular Living (in shop!) (for morning routine)
Here’s a video link if you need a visual to follow along!
Prep: Cleanse face and neck. Apply a few drops of facial oil or moisturizer so the tool glides smoothly.
Hold & angle: Hold the gua sha at a shallow 15–30° angle to the skin (almost flat).
Begin on the bottom of the neck (base first). Work from the base of the neck upward toward the jawline with long, gentle strokes (3–5 times each side). Use the flat edge. Then sweep from behind the ear down toward the clavicle to encourage drainage.
Jaw & chin: Use the tool’s notch or curved edge. Glide from chin outward along the jawline to the ear (3–5 strokes each side).
Cheeks & cheekbones: Press gently and stroke from the side of the nose outward toward the ear, following the cheekbone (3–5 strokes each side).
Under‑eye & brow: Use the lighter pressure and the curved smaller edge. Move from inner corner of the under‑eye outward toward the temple (3 gentle strokes). Then sweep along the brow from center outward.
Forehead: Stroke upward from the brows toward the hairline, then outward across the forehead (3–5 strokes).
Finish: Sweep the whole face once toward the lymph drainage points (down the neck to the clavicle). Wipe tool clean and store.
Seal it all: If it’s the evening use a few drops of Vitamin E oil and a few drops of the Prickly Pear Facial Serum by Circular Living (or other light oil). If doing this in the morning, spray your face with the Rose Geranium Botanical Face Mist.
Pressure & timing
Use gentle to medium pressure — comfortable, not painful. Limit session to 3–10 minutes. Do 2–4 times per week or daily if gentle.
Precautions
Don’t use on broken, irritated, or infected skin, severe acne, rosacea flare, blood clotting disorders, or if you’re on blood thinners without checking a clinician. Avoid heavy pressure near the eyes. If bruising occurs, reduce pressure and frequency.
Optional
Cool the tool in the fridge for a depuffing effect. Use consistent strokes and cleanse tool with soap and water after each use.
